June 02, 2019.- In the framework of 49th ALIDE General Assembly, the representatives of the member institutions were invited to elect the headquarters of the next General Assembly of ALIDE, which coincides with the 50th celebration of this meeting, which is the most important forum of the Latin American association.
Shurmel Elias, CEO of the Corporation for the Development of Curaçao (Korpodeko), presented the proposal that the headquarters be in the Caribbean country, to which the national representatives responded positively. Elias was accompanied by a large delegation composed of Chesron Isidora, executive director of Korpodeko and director of ALIDE; John Jacobs, treasurer; and board members Willem Jonckheer, Alcides Cova and Gabriel Magdalena.
According to information released by the general secretary of ALIDE, Edgardo Alvarez, the holding of the General Assembly in Curaçao is aligned with the strategic objective of increasing the presence of the association in the Caribbean region, a purpose that aims to strengthen the regional representativeness of ALIDE.
It should be noted that in 2019, ten years have passed since the last General Assembly was held in Curaçao.
