ADFIAP has released its second consecutive integrated annual and sustainability report that covers the forward-looking initiatives of the Association for 2009. As in the first one released in 2008, this report focused on the ADFIAP’s Secretariat’s sustainability performance as measured by the G3 C level indicators of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Sustainability Reporting Guidelines.

Despite the challenging economic conditions of 2009, ADFIAP and its member-institutions’ commitment to sustainability has never been stronger. ADFIAP is working towards leading the development financing community in sustainability reporting and is proud of the progress made so far, with 2009 representing another big step in this journey. ADFIAP has thus evolved from setting aspirational goals to establishing measurable goals with metrics and targets.

The theme of the report, “Playing Our Part”, highlights the activities and achievements of ADFIAP in pursuit of its sustainable development mission by leading the way for its members to continue providing financial and technical assistance to initiatives that are socially-beneficial, environmentally-responsible and economically-viable. In this regard, the report pays tribute to its 117 member-institutions and features four members from a broad geographic spectrum that played significant roles in helping their governments and local enterprises cope with the challenges brought about by the global economic turmoil that made 2009 one of the most trying times in our history.
